Neknomination

Don't know how/when/where/who started this neknomination thingy. It somehow got to a friend in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, who nominated CLin in Seattle, USA. Who nominated ELin in Taipei, Taiwan, and WW in Gothenburg, Sweden. ELin then nominated me in Hong Kong. I then nominated JF in Hong Kong and Sivalove in London, United Kingdom.

Not sure how/when/where/who it will end. Just love how it travels around the world within 24 hours to connect with all of us =)

Run Jenna Run!!!

To continue my 10km race story...

People told me not to run a couple days before that and I took the advice and beyond-- I stopped training a week before the race. LOL! Doubted I could ever run that far, but since the four of us signed up together, I can't flake on them. I just can't.

On race day, instead of going home at 6am, we got up at 6am for a change. It was a chilly 7C morning in Sheung Shui. We managed to get there and walked to the starting line RIGHT on time for the race. Told DC & Doublechin to wait for me at the finish line and they ran off, lost sight of them in the crowd shortly after we started. Bin Bin said he would jog with me at first, and then he couldn't take my snail pace and ran off into the crowd ahead of me. Hahaa... So there I was. Tired. Lonely. Out of breath... Then I saw the 2km sign. hahahahaa... Still freaking 8km to go. Many thots came and go during the race. One that stayed was, "Let's pick an easy target! I NEED TO CATCH UP WITH BIN!" Really didn't wanna be last so I ran. Ran and ran. Walked a bit and ran again. At the end, I didn't catch up with Bin Bin. Still the last person to finish as expected, but I was able to finished the race with 1 hour 9 mins 45 sec. Slow but proud :)

January 19th 2014. The day I ran my very first 10km race!

2014 Resolutions

Happy New Year!

Punch Detox Review

I DID IT! Wohooo! I was on the 3-days level 1 cleanse and now feel amazing about it! I'm lucky to have 3 friends to be on the cleanse with me so we share our process, detox symptoms, and supports. Great to know that I'm not alone on this!

Day 1:
Very excited to try all six juices for the first time! It was much easier than I thought. The juices were very tasty! I almost felt guilty for having such yummy drinks all day long. LOL! I drank warm water in between the juices and boi I reached record high on numbers of bathroom visits in a day! So make sure you have easy access to a bathroom when you're on the cleanse. The juices all tasted very different which made me realized the wide variety of fruits and veggies I'm getting that I would never ever get on a normal day. Juice #5 was my favorite!! It's actually a soup, I heated it up then drank in a bowl with a spoon. So it's like an actual meal. Delicious! To occupy my lunch and dinner hour, I went shopping and had a facial. Awesome way to spend the extra time =)

Day 2:
The juices are the same everyday so I already know what to expect. Friends who have done the cleanse all said Day 1 was the toughest. For me, day 2 was definitely the most difficult. I had some slight detox symptoms such as headache, gas, CRAVINGS. Thank god the check-up emails from Punch Detox and my fellow punchers kept me sane =) Had a great foot massage during lunch, and went to my usual dodgeball game at night. I was a bit dizzy at dball but it was manageable.

Day 3:
Stepped on the scale first thing in the morning and I've lost 4lbs!! Woohooo!!! Although food cravings continued through out the day but I was already seeing results! Took a nice walk to the Central Pier during lunch and took a nap after work. Somehow I was exhausted and needed a nap before dinner.

Just like that, my 3 days cleanse was over!! I have better skin, feeling lighter, flat stomach and most importantly I feel in control with what I eat. I'm so inspired by the soup and have looked up other soup recipes that I cannot wait to make! I will definitely try the level 2 cleanse next time. Also, the juices are ORGANIC! Meanwhile, I am a lot more cautious with what I eat, exercise to keep my weight off, and start living a much healthier life style from now on!

Punch Detox!!

Since I started drinking morning smoothies as breakfast, I noticed how much energy I gained without coffee and refined sugar. At the same time gaining lots of nutrition to kick start my day. Ladies and gentlemen! JP is bringing her latest juice obsession to the next level... wait for it... 3 DAYS JUICE FASTING!!!

There are 3 juice cleansing
companies in HK that provide juice and delivery at similar prices. I went with Punch Detox after reading into it because:

1. Friends have done it and they survived
2. Friends willing to do a group detox and we're all very motivated
3. Read a review that Punch Detox uses organic fruits and veggies!

Not sure if it's truly that all veg and fruits they use are organic, can't find anything regarding them being organic on the website either but that review convinced me!

So me and my fellow detox buddies are doing the detox together. We all received our juices yesterday. Some chose to have the juices delivered to their office and just keep them in the office fridge. Whereas I had mine delivered to my home. All 18 bottles arrived in 3 cooler bags and we all put them in the fridge immediately to keep them fresh.

I'm so excited about this program! Can't wait to come back and write my own review!! See y'all in 3 days!

Being Healthy

2013 has been a year of true resolution year for JP so far. Eating healthy, cut down coffee, exercise, quit social smoking, and cut down drinking tremendously. JP's newest addiction is breakfast smoothies! It's fun, it's yummy, it sets the tone for a cheerful day! ROARRR!

Veggie smoothies ingredients
- Apple
- Avocado
- Banana
- Blueberries
- Kiwi
- Orange
- Pear
- Cucumber
- Carrot
- Celery
- Spinach
- Bak Choi (Yup!)

WELL obviously not all of the above! So what I do is to pick whatever I have in the fridge and pick at least 2 fruits and 2 veggies and blend-away!! I started with only fruits and apparently it's too sugary and body stores them as fat... I think. BUT! Adding veggies will change the dynamics of your smoothie and balance out the sugar lever, yet you can only taste the fruits!

Tips:
- Banana is a must! I never liked banana before but it makes any smoothie tastes GREAT!
- Not a big fan of Celery... but putting in the smoothie is the only way that I'd . only add very little to your smoothie, like half a stalk or less. XD
- Cucumber is AWESOME coz you can't really taste it when it's mixed with fruits :)
- Spinach is very very very good.
- Bak Choi is the more cost effective version of spinach but doesn't taste as good.
- Recent favorite is Apple, Banana, Cucumber, Carrot, & a bit of Celery.

Cheers!

Memories & Poetry

Found the poem I wrote when I sold my Civic when I moved to Hong Kong in 2006 on my Xanga! Yeah! Xanga!! It's like... friendster's friend. LOL! I have no choice but to re-post the poem here. Oh sweet old memories!

Oh Civic, my Civic~
It's so sad to see you go.
Still remember when we first met 6 years ago.
Since then we were inseparable.
I'm sorry I had to put you up for sale.
I hope your new owner will treat you 'ho ho'.
Farewell my Civic.
I sure will miss you so.

MoDac Flash Mob 2013 @Asia Society

W asked if I could arrange a Flash Mob at her company event one day and I said YES without a second of hesitation. Everyone in MoDac was just excited as I was if not more! The original plan was a mob size of 30, ended up with over 100 overwhelming mobbers sign-up! Two months of preparation, four workshops, and two rehearsals and we nailed it! The guests were surprised and everyone had an awesome time! Super thankful to have Diane & Samantha to organize this event with me. Someday, I could tell my grandchildren that grannie once organized an amazing flash mob back in the early 22nd Century :)
