My Westside Story Part 2- Keno Madness

What's there to do in Vegas except walking up & down the Strip, eatting the finest buffets, and watching shows? GAMBLING!!! You can pretty much gamble anywhere in the Silver State of Nevada! There're slot machines at Walmart, Saveway, even 7-11. There's Keno in casino restaurants too. As you know, I'm from a Nevedian family (Reno is my home town baby~), gambling is in our blood!!! We got tired of All-you-can-eat seafood/prime ribs buffet, and we dined at Harris' coffee shop.

As we got seated, the first thing we did was to pulled out the Keno tickets and crossed out our favorite numbers. *There's 80 number in Keno, you can pick 1 to 20 numbers to play, and 20 numbers will be drawn in each game.*

Yung, "Okay, gimme a number, all of you."

Neko, "14!!!" I will not give up on 14 even it's unlucky.

Mum, "3."

Anson, "11. I like 11."

Me, "78.... well, my favorite number is 35, but I'll go for 78 this time."

Yung, "Okay, I'm not gonna pick. My number will never win." as he waved at the Keno girl.

The game was on before the Keno girl came back with our tickets. Us gamblers watched for the results anyways as our table is right in front of the Keno screen.

Me, "OMG!!! 78 is on!!!!!!"

Everone, "gimme a 3! 3! 3!!" and number 14 popped up as the Keno girl comes back with our ticket. OHH! We are on this game! She got us in!!

Yung, "OMG!! We got 2 numbers! Common, we can do this, chant with me... 3! 3! 3!!" and guess what? Number 3 popped up!!!!! Wahhhhh~ We got 3 numbers out of 4!

Anson, "Common number 11!!!"

Everone, "11! 11! 11! 11! 11! 11!"

AND THERE IS IT! NUMBER 11!!!! WE WOOOONNNN! 4 OUT OF 4!!! WWWWAHHHHHHH! WE WON! OMG!! I was overwhimed with the excitement. I had to order an OJ to celebrate! hehe... *We only bet $1 on this and we got a glorious lum sum of $175 back!! Wohoo~~*

Then mum said she has to try her luck too. She asked us for 2 numbers each and bet $1 on 10 numbers. Others were finishing up their lunch plates, as I was enjoying my victory OJ. Yung filled out another game of Keno and rushed to the Keno stand with mum & his own ticket without waiting for the Keno girl. The game started a moment later... We concentrated so hard on the Keno screen as the winning numbers were popping up.



Yung signed, "okay, nothing for this game..."

Mum hesitated a bit then said, "Ohh... I think I got 6 numbers, how much do I get?"

Then the Keno girl came over with a big smile and checked mum's tickets. She said, "Lucky table! You got 7 out of 10 numbers ma'am. On a $1 bet, that gives you $150! Congratulations!"

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I cannot believe this! We got 2 winning tickets in one meal!!! Gambling is fun~~~ Muahhahahahhahhh~~

My Westside Story Part 1- Almast famous

I was up in Vegas last week, visiting old friends =P They're all doing very good!

Oprah, "How's your Vegas trip so far?"
Me, "It's great! Went to see the World's Greatest Magic Show last nite. Gonna see the Blue Men Gloup tonite... and we've been stuffing up with all the buffet food since we got here! Jeez, gained a few lbs from the prime ribs & Alaska king crabs."
Oprah "Awesome! Enjoy your stay, and it's wonderful to see you here!"


Oh Angie is sooooo hot! She's getting ready for the United Nation kid's awareness banquet.


The Rock, "Can you smelllllllllllllllll??? What the people's chap is cooking??"
Anson, "Oh... you're still cooking after all these years of WWE?"


Me, "Mr. Woods, would you like some constipation medication?"
Tiger, "Errr.... I'm just concentrating, but yeah, some medication would help my constipation. Thanks Michelle!"


Simon, "Oh boi! What is he doing on stage???"
Yung, "Should I eat more prime ribs or crabs for dinner???? Ah forget it, I'll get both."
Me, "Should I get that BeBe dress for Vera's wedding?? Hum... damn it! Why didn't I get that Burberry coat???? Errr.... You think mum will get it for me?"


Brittney, "Okay Michelle, just arch back and twist..."
Me, "Like this?? Ouch... my back hurts..."

9th day of the 9th month

What's best to do on the 9th day of the 9th month? Picnic? yes. But wouldn't a costume party be a better idea? hehee... okay, it's just another excuse for us to party for the long weekend. THE NERDS PARTY was a blast! The prep section was hilarious!!! I was the Dai Fai Wood fastfood restaurant waitress taking orders of JD&Coke, and Pineapple w/ Malibu all nite long; Diane's nerdy glasses was just off the hook; brother James had successfully became Mr.7 of the nite; Malina has got to be the cutest nerd ever; and Patty's wig rocks!!

Whereabout

Okay... It's about time to let you all know what i'm up to. I was back in the Bay last week. Bumped into hella people at Suede! I wasn't gonna go, but what heck! What am I gonna do in the hotel room by myself anyway? So I went to Suede with Ah Tung, Yuen, & Erin. Then met up with Katie, Van, Doris, Justin, Vivi, & Henry there. Who would'a thought that I'd bumped into Tim Ho there?? OMG! That's what I call FATE!

Thanks Vivi for this pic! This was the only picture I took from this SF trip. Boy do I look sober? it's because I was!! I didn't drink at all at Suede, I was on medication for my nasty cough. Just danced all nite long! Gotta be 4 hours straight of non-stop dancing. Boi, I was sweating like a hot-yoga-man! =P




And I was back in HK last Friday. Sick as hell... errr.... Still haven't recover from my cold/cough.... my voice is gone but my spirit never dies!!! wahahhaaa... I went costume shopping with James & Diane last nite. 'Coz we're having a NERD PARTY tomorrow!!!! wohooooo~ Our costumes are off the hook!!!! We'll have a good laugh at each other tomorrow! We'll show you what NERDS are all about! hehee... can't wait cannot wait!!!!!

Then I'll be back to the States on Saturday! Yes... I'm having 2 US trips in the month of October. =) My beloved JuJu is getting married! Of course I'll be there to see her walk down the aisle! But before that, I'm going to Vegas for the very first time in my life!!!! Me, Nevadian, lived there for 5 damn years, and yes... it's my first time to Vegas.... heh. Althought I'm every excited about my very first Vegas trip, I will not be able to tell you about it later. 'coz, WHAT HAPPENS IN VEGAS, STAYS IN VEGAS! Muahahhahaahhh...

金曲懷舊夜

金會晚宴，一年一度嘅盛事。我家的蘇師傅和金鋪老扳交情什深，所以每年都得到金會晚宴門卷，以VIP姿態欣賞懷舊金曲和參加幸運大抽獎。我今年已經係第二年跟蘇師傅去襯熱鬧啦！

同上年一樣，全晚嘅氣氛好好！朱咪咪實在非常壓台！我和一眾司奶睇到如痴如醉。


有朱咪咪，當然唔少得wan光！Classic！！

全晚仲有Ｎ個你講唔出佢個名嘅藝人，細龜，常在得，經常份演黑社會大佬，道友，茶餐廳伙記&校工嘅演員們。仲有我個friend個friend-- 殘浩一丁嘅拉丁霍啓光！


全晚有十幾個幸運大獎。先抽坐號，再抽台號。現場氣氛高漲！我哋一直嗌破喉嚨都抽唔到我吔嗰台。直至抽第三獎，姑丈居然被抽中！！！嘩~~~~ 太好運啦！姑丈真係好有抽獎運架！成日都抽到好野嘅。


正當我地嗰台人為姑丈high到爆之際，大會司儀又嗌我地個台號！原來Auntie Nancy 抽中咗第二獎呀！OMG！！！！你睇吓Ｄ金魚幾咁金~




就係咁，一年一度嘅金會晚宴就在一片歡笑聲中結束嘞。期待下一年再參與啊！

Being Martha Stewart

I baked my first cake ever on Saturday!! OMG!!! Went to a baking class with Malina & bro and made a Strawberry and Baileys Mascarpone Cheesecake. I made the whole thing from scretch! Even the lady fingers ar~ HO GING Ne~ hehee... brought it home and ate it all. It was sooooooooo gooooooooooood! I can't even believe it myself. I didn't believe it when James said that I'm most likely to become the next Martha Stewart, now I do. Wakakkaaa...

Lady fingers
egg white 2pc
sugar 40g
egg yold 2pc
plain flour 40g
powder suger
chopped pistachio

1. Whip the egg white until stiff around 20sec. Add sugar in 2-3 times and whip unitl smooth.
2. Fold in egg yolk. then, fold in plain flour3. Bake at 180C for 6 minutes, baked 2 minutes after turning off the oven.

Biscuit Base
Digestive biscuit (5pc) 75g
sugar 10g
unslted butter (melted) 20g

1. Crumb the digestive biscuit and mix with suger
2. Gently mi with soft butter. Press into the cake ring as the base

Bileys syrup
Baileys 20g
sugar 10g
instant coffee powder 4g
water 60g

1. Mix sugar and instant coffee powder, add boil water and mix. After set cool, add Baileys.

Cheesecake filling
egg yolk 2pc
icing sugar 40g
Mascarpone 180g
Baileys 60g
gelatin leaves (3pc) 7.5g
whipping cream 160g
instant coffee powder 2g
boiled water 2g
strawberry filling 120g

1. Whip whipping cream with medium speed and place in refrigerator. Set aside.
2. Add instant coffee powder in hot water and whip well, then fold in Mascarpone and mix. Set aside
3. whip egg yolk and icing sugar unitl frothy
4. Addthe whiped egg yolk in to mascarpone mixture by 2 to 3 times and mix well.
5. Fold in whipped cream. Use high speed to whip for a while unitl stiff.
6. Add gelatin and mix with high speed.7. Then add bailey and mix.

Being Rosemary

Got a message from Mav last Thursday.

"Hey! Do you wanna go watch a fashion show with me?"

"Sure! Wot kind of fashion show?"

"Vivienne Westwood & some other brands. It's a fashion show at Festival Walk.Cocktail starts at 5:30"

Okay... I pass by Festival Walk everyday anyway. So I went there with Mav. When we got there, we noticed that there're only a few VIP seats from VW, and we're two of them. (Humm... how did that happen? Mav must be shopping a lot lately =P) Anyway, as we checked our names with the receptionist, there were about 10 catering servers waiting for us. OMG! The appetizers were sooooooo good! YUMMY~~ Wakkaaa... I tried not to eat too much in front of all the good looking VIPs. Cocktail were also very good. Then Mav & I took the front row seats right next to the runway. Where a bottle of fine wine where nicely placed on for each VIP guest. Then the music started, and the models were behind the back drops.

"Humm... I wonder which models are gonna walk for us?" I asked...

"Oh sh*t! That's Rosemary... and that's Chan Ka Yung.. Wah! It's actually models that I could name!!"

"Wait a minute... that's Mr. Hong Kong! Wakakkaaa... and he's got a big butt I cannot lie... Wooooh"

It's my second time to a fashion show. Last fashion show was much more relaxed on YoYo Island, almost a joke to us. However, this time was a lot more fancy. Viewing from the front row seat... I got to feel what it's like to be Rosemary-- The press was clicking their cameras like crazy, pose pose pose. Ahhh~ I like the appetizers, I like the free wine, I like fashion shows, I like front row seats! =D

Scabulous!

I've been playing Scabulous on facebook for days. Today, I manage to gether 3 other brave souls to join me for a game of real-life SCABBLE!! Muahahhaaa... We spent over an hour eatting moon cake while digging through the dictionary. It's just Scabulous!!
